Take deposits online with Stripe

Payments4 min read

Connect your own Stripe account and customers can pay their deposit online right on your booking page: by card, plus PromptPay in Thailand, FPX and GrabPay in Malaysia, and PayNow and GrabPay in Singapore. Stripe confirms the payment, so the booking is confirmed automatically — no slip to check. The money goes straight to your Stripe account; JaaTime never holds it.

  1. 1

    Open Deposits settings

Go to Settings and open Deposits. Deposits must be switched on, and your services need a deposit amount, just like with PromptPay slips. Stripe deposits are included from the Plus plan. Deposits

  2. 2

    Connect Stripe

In the Stripe card, tap Create a Stripe account to open a new one, or I already have a Stripe account to connect yours. Your Stripe account must be registered in your shop's country: Thailand, Malaysia or Singapore. Create a Stripe account

  3. 3

    Read and accept the terms

The first time, you'll see a short summary of how Stripe payments work: you are the seller, Stripe fees, refunds and disputes are yours, and JaaTime never holds your money. Tick the box and continue. Agree and continue

  4. 4

    Finish setup on Stripe

Stripe asks for your business details, ID and bank account. When it's done, the card shows Stripe is connected. If Stripe still needs something, finish it in your Stripe dashboard — it switches on by itself. In Malaysia, FPX needs your Business Registration Number: turn it on in your Stripe dashboard under Settings → Payment methods.

  5. 5

    Choose how customers pay

In Thailand, if you also have a PromptPay QR set up, pick Stripe or PromptPay QR with the switch — it saves instantly and you can change it any day. With only Stripe set up, Stripe is used automatically. In Malaysia and Singapore, customers always pay through Stripe.

  6. 6

Set your hold time and deposit terms

Slot hold is how long a customer's time is held while they pay; when it runs out the slot is released and the payment page closes. Your deposit terms are shown to customers before they pay — write your cancellation and refund rules there.

  7. 7

    Refund a deposit

Open the appointment, find the deposit in Payment history (it says Paid online · Stripe) and tap Refund via Stripe. You can refund all or part of it. Refunds you make in your Stripe dashboard show up in JaaTime automatically. Refunds are made on the web; the mobile app shows the payment but can't refund it. FPX refunds can take up to 6 weeks. If a refund fails, the money goes back to your Stripe balance and you'll get a notification, so you can refund the customer another way. Refund via Stripe

Stripe payments can't be edited or deleted in JaaTime — they match real money on your Stripe account; undo one with Refund via Stripe. If a customer disputes a card payment you'll get a notification; answer the dispute in your Stripe dashboard. If it's lost, JaaTime records it as a chargeback. Stripe charges its own fees; JaaTime adds no fee today.
